At the end of 2013, Dubai deservedly won the bid to host Expo 2020. In doing so, the UAE will welcome an unprecedented 25 million visitors over six months and place the country at the centre of the international stage on the eve of its Golden Jubilee.
Expo 2020 in Dubai will be the first to be held in the MEASA (Middle East, Africa and South Asia) region. Expo 2020 will be the major international platform for connectivity to help pioneer new partnerships for growth and sustainability for the future and all eyes will be on Dubai, the city of innovation and making the impossible possible!
In Dubai’s bid to host Expo 2020, the UAE selected the theme: “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.
The venue is located equidistant between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and will be serviced by three international airports and a world-class road and transport system to ensure easy access and seamless operations for both participants and visitors.
Construction begins in 2015 and is planned to be completed by 2019, allowing for readiness testing across networks, systems and technologies.
